Michael, who has more than 35 years of experience teaching mathematics across all levels, in Australia and internationally, will be exploring algebra, drawing graphs and problem solving with linear and quadratic equations. This session is aimed for students with some high school level experience.

About the event

This session is aimed for students with some high school level experience in Mathematics, looking to develop their skills.


Michael Lo Basso

Senior Mathematics Teacher


Michael has taught for over 35 years as a senior mathematics teacher in South Australia, Tasmania and England and is currently teaching Stage 2 Maths Methods and Specialist Maths. He has experience with teaching students of different abilities and is able to tailor the session to suit a variety of learners. This session was very well received when first presented at GTCASA 2 years ago.


The session will include:


  • Introduction to Linear Equations

  • Plotting and Solving Linear Equations

  • Introduction to Quadratic Equations and Parabolas

  • Problem Solving with Parabolas using an interactive program

 

Please bring a fully charged laptop, pen, ruler and pencil.
